Your wedding day isn't a story, it's a dance.
And as it turns out, that's how everything around it is too. Your imagination will fill in the gaps, extend, condense, change how some things felt, and never forget how others did, for years to come.
How I photograph, is also a dance (that's a metaphor: I have as many actual moves as a sleeping chess player).
I rely on feel and anticipation (sharply honed from a good 150 of these), and an enthusiastic curiosity of humans and all our weird and wonderful little quirks.
I cherish the anarchy and discord as much as the calm and romantic: the day is a collection of moments and sliding doors, and my job is to take and interpret tokens from them all, whatever colour they are.
When you hire me, you're commissioning a new friend, and internationally-awarded creative anarchist to use my eyes, ears, heart, and strange cameras to move with that dance.
Do we meet before the day?
What do your prices start at?
Do you accept split payments?
Can we see a full gallery?
What are your travel fees?
If you have the time, I recommend it! And again closer to the day. That said, for half of my bookings, we meet over skype, if at all! If you'd like to arrange a meeting at any point, I am available in person in Seddon, VIC, or on Skype, on Wednesdays (all day and night) and Sunday evenings.
My prices begin at $4.5k for wedding coverage, and $3.5k for elopements or short mon-thu weddings of up to 15 people. Direct deposit, credit card, and paypal are all accepted. Cash payments are not available.
Enquire for a full price sheet.
This is a great question that I think all couples should ask of their photographer, to see how they cover the other 95% of the day that doesn't land on instagram!
I'd be happy to show you several full galleries, so just reach out to me here.
Yep! The standard scenario is a 25% deposit payable to fully secure your date, and then the final 75% is split across two payments in the leadup, with the final instalment due 7 days prior to your day.
For relevant travel fees, please enquire here.
As an idea, I require 4 nights accommodation for US/Europe, 2 nights for NZ or any states in Australia outside of VIC. As well as that, any travel costs and car hire.
Tips for the camera shy?
Family photos: do you do them?
Should we have an unplugged ceremony?
What if our ceremony is at midday?
Do you have an assistant?
Being that way myself, I have boatloads. After 5 years of doing this, I have enough experience to know that it's completely and totally just about having the both of you engage with each other.
I might not promote them on my social media, but family photos are part of every wedding, and I'll make them quick and painless with forward planning. I promise you'll want these in decades to come, and your mum will kill me if I don't get them.
If i'm known for anything, it's being able to work with all lighting situations. We'll work on your timeline together, and structure your portraits in such a way that you also get some softer light later on.
This is a great idea that couples never regret, but at the same time i'd never demand it: iPads might look cool in photos in 30 years time. We'll chat it out and see what's best, for you.
In order to be nimble to get the extroardinary coverage you deserve, I work with minimal gear, and so I work solo. If you're having a large wedding and would like a second photographer, that's an option - enquire here.

You'll be given a short preview of a handful of images a week after your day, an extended preview a week after that, and your full set, all beautifully edited, 6-8 weeks after your wedding day.
On the evening of your wedding I back everything up a minimum of 3 times locally and offsite, for a minimum of 5 years. With that said, please back your images up at least twice, in two physical locations!
I offer handmade albums printed and bound at Australia's heritage lab - Atkins. These are designed by me and have a design-eye over them unavailable anywhere else.
